MITRAL BLOOD FLOW VELOCITY SPECTROGRAM OF A MOUSE
	A 10 MHz pulsed Doppler probe is positioned just lateral to the xiphoid and is directed towards the left ear, almost parallel to the horizontal and ranged at 6-8mm to sample the flow velocity at the mitral inlet. This filling signal is biphasic with an early (E) peak followed by an atrial (A) peak. The E/A ratio is an index of LV diastolic function which can be affected by age, hypertrophy, myopathy, and congestive heart failure.
